We are Dulani, Lisa and Myles Spencer, founders of Savor Blends -- handcrafted blends from our tiny kitchen to yours.

How did this happen? I’m still asking myself this question.

“It started with a coffee table book called ‘Food In Jars’”

December, 2015, while shopping for that one last stocking stuffer gift for Dulani, I spotted a coffee table book called "Food in Jars" at Whole Foods. Perfect for him!

Back then, he’d been working in a bakery, taking knife cutting & food safety courses, doing anything to keep himself around food.

During that first month, Dulani and that damn book turned our tiny kitchen into mayhem. Salts, herbs, bowls, pans….just crazy. The outcome? - "Herbed", our Rosemary sea salt blend.

Creating blends (some of them so crazy that they had to be tossed out), and sharing them with friends & family brought on the bright idea that “this could actually be a business for us…”

Our Roots

Our families & cooking styles are rooted in the south - our parents/grandparents hail from Arkansas and Louisiana, but we’re both born and raised in E. Palo Alto, CA. My mom never used recipes; instead she just ‘threw something together’. This inspired my love of creating flavors and experimenting with herbs and spices that one wouldn’t necessarily blend together.

As such, we love all foods, and have created seasoning blends inspired by Cajun/Creole, Indian, Asian, Mexican, French, Italian and good old-fashioned American; using herbs and spices such as fennel, saffron, clove, garlic, chipotle, rosemary, cayenne, lavender, sage, tarragon and cumin. 

Oh, and the butters, because everything is better with butter, right?

The joy of experimenting with these herbs and spices keep us constantly creating new and exciting blends.
